Here are some FAQ regarding porcelain veneer treatment in our office:
How do I care for veneers? How long will they last?
Brush and floss as you normally would, and don’t be afraid that you will damage your veneers in doing so. They’re stronger than you might think! With proper care, your porcelain veneers should last about 10 to 20 years. It is important to maintain good oral hygiene and regular dental visits to ensure proper care is taken.
Will my dental insurance cover porcelain veneers?
Dental insurance companies will sometimes cover a portion of the cost of veneers, and some will not. Our team will do a complimentary benefits check to find out what coverage is provided and what the cost would be for our patients.
Will my veneers stain if I drink coffee, red wine, tea, etc.?
Porcelain veneers rarely become stained. However, because your surrounding natural teeth do stain over time we recommend limiting staining beverages or using a straw as much as possible. It is also important to consider the shade of the teeth prior to veneer placement. A lot of patients choose to whiten their teeth to match the veneers to the whitest shade their natural tooth can be and maintain that shade over time.
What if I grind or clench my teeth at night?
To keep your investment protected, we will recommend wearing a custom-fit nightguard every night. This will ensure that all the teeth are protected and also reduce the stress to the jaw joint that associates with grinding at night.
